Troubleshooting of Kubernetes Pods - Inside and Outside the Cluster?
Troubleshooting a Kubernetes pod can be difficult due to the special runtime environment. Depending on the error situation, it may be useful to investigate the error within a running pod or outside the cluster. Different error scenarios therefore lead to different troubleshooting methods. The possibilities for debugging within a pod can be severely limited, for example, by a lack of tools or the use of a distroless container. Outside the cluster, the question arises as to how to create an environment for the pod that is as identical as possible for more accurate error analysis.
In this session, typical errors are classified in order to then present two types of error analysis. Using the tools ephemeral containers and telepresence, it will be shown how troubleshooting can take place inside or outside the cluster and what benefits these tools offer.
